Living Out the Message
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Let each person be quick to hear,
Slow to speak and slow to anger;
While learning how to revere,
Embraced in the Lord to languor.
For the wrath of a man works not,
Unto the righteousness of God;
It works against what He has sought,
Stopping you from becoming flawed.
Throw out the wicked filthiness,
Receive the meekness of the Word;
No more of rampant naughtiness,
Or immoral acts as absurd.
The implanted Word saves your soul,
To thwart off any deceiver;
With Jesus being in control,
If you are a true believer.
Always be doers of the Word,
And not being as a hearer;
For you might forget what is heard,
If not pondered in the mirror.
If you look and it goes away,
What you were like you will forget;
And will be causing you to stray,
Doing something you will regret.
If you look at the perfect Law,
The perfect Law of liberty;
You will never commit a flaw,
Putting your soul in jeopardy.
Bless the doer who does succeed,
Not forgetting what he has heard;
God will be blessing of His deed,
Putting to practice of the Word.
Keep religion undefiled,
For keeping yourself as unstained;
Visit a fatherless child,
So your righteousness be sustained.
