Whenever Upon Me...

Whenever upon me came,
To end my breath,
To end my walk,
Taking my every step,
YOU came down to take,
The place of this loss,
The place of this end,
No matter the cost,
You came and you took,
Me deep in Your arms,
You took me to shield me,
From all the harm,
You took me away,
From steps of chains on my legs,
The chains of the depth,
Of bellowing on our heads,
You came and you took,
The depth of hooks from our flesh,
The hooks of the press,
Of the screams of our breath,
You took all the drags,
Of the gravel in our drags,
Along both road and sand,
As worse in feel ever had,
Taking the pours of the fires,
Upon our backs bare no say,
You took also it,
While over our lives yes You stayed,
With no other to take,
Yet still remained as my save,
I just truly bow down and thank You,
For what for me yes You gave.
