Two Points of Prayer
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Every Word of God proves true,
He shields those who take refuge;
Because He will see you through,
When troubles become a deluge.
A shield if you put your trust,
Never adding to His Word;
He rebukes if used for lust,
As a liar what is heard.
You will be as a liar,
If found out that you deny;
Using for your desire,
Will be causing you to die.
Remove falsehood and lying,
Giving poverty nor wealth;
Feed me by purifying,
My thoughts for spiritual health.
Lest I be full and deny,
Regarding, who is the Lord;
By someone who would defy,
That His Word would be ignored.
Lest I would be poor and steal,
Take the name of God in vain;
Adverse to what He would feel,
His wrath would be causing pain.
