The woman

The Woman

By Marie Ward

The woman that you see
Is a mere image of me
Just a blur in the night
To only disappear behind the tree

The darkness is here
Don’t be scared
It’s only you and your fear
To only be seen
Behind she will appear

The woman that you see
Is a mere image of me
Just a blur in the night
To only disappear behind the tree

As the leaves fall
So does the pain
I’ve come to a crawl
On my hands and knees under chains
The woman you see has been called

The woman that you see
Is a mere image of me
Just a blur in the night
To only disappear behind the tree

The fear is gone
And so is the pain
The woman is the spawn
And has all but gained
The pain and fear
 I can now be unchained
