ALL CHANGE, ALL CHANGE

All change, all change,
as the train in the tube,
comes to a stop at a station,
and it’s a standstill again,
it’s all change, all change.

At the jerk of the stop,
I am startled with a shock,
as my day dreams eclipse,
I was almost asleep.

I come to a realisation,
put back with a thud
on to stark day life
at the stop abrupt,
and it’s all change, all change in the surround.

Lost in the deeper quagmire of my mind
my loss with no chance of a rescind
the jolt back to life
feels ever more unkind
it’s all change, all change in the surround.

I have to get off my train
and out of my nightmare
to confront the harsh terrain
of my life square and fair.
But I have lost my daughter
and I am in despair.
Still life goes on and on,
and last chance saloon,
and it’s all change ,
all change in the surround.
