The Faceless World

The bird snapped the wire
He wanted to be a mechanic for hire
The cloning machines had failed
The earth was left to hail
The light from above
And do the will of a dove

The earth was covered to the brim
With clones of one man
His head was shiny
Like a bowl with no rim
His hands like a fan
And his yell tiny

Drowned out by the voices
For they had no choices
But to do the bidding
Of the superior race
And no I’m not kidding
The dove had a human face
