A golden silhouette

john mckiernan 1953 (Australia)

The distant tune beckons my empty world!
In the still of the night, the Piper has cast his spell.

A golden silhouette, reaching, alluring and unafraid.
The taunting moving shadows have now become yesterday.

The willow tree sings with limbs entwined.
A flurry of leaves, primrose and thyme.

You came to me, you gave to me, you took nothing away.
Now sweet water from heaven has taken centre stage.

The soft spoken stream is caressing the willow tree.
And a golden silhouette has taken wings and set me free.
