Nobody's Valentine
this Valentines day.
Nobody's heart
beats for me.
Like Valentine's everywhere,
whose hearts fail the cadence
of loves rhythmic march melody.
Closing eyes,
I imagine a smile,
assurance from a protective embrace.
Opening my eyes see
it all disappear to endure a cold
empty space.
Alone is a prison
we plot to escape
to a hideout beside love's burning fire.
But this Lover's Day celebration shall pass,
without love...
or a soulful passionate desire.
Solitude, alone in my thoughts
Memories, an indelible trace.
Another day passes,
condemning my sleep,
with no loving arms to embrace.
