BEIJING 2008

The tanks were coming down the road
To stop a freedom protest,
The Olympic Committee with a heavy burden
Has failed to pass the test.

Terror squads from Beijing
Are running riot across Tibet,
But the amnesiacs at Lake Geneva
Say, ‘It’s very easy to forget.’

They forget about the army tanks
That went through China in ’89,
They forget about the innocents
Students who brutally died.

An evil regime slaughtered
Students and workers without regret,
When political correctness demands though
How quickly we all forget.

And now the evil regime
Gets to host the Olympic Games,
The Good and the Decent protest
The soulless compete in shame.

About this poem

I wrote this poem in protest about the Beijing Olympics. Considering China's human rights record, it's a disgrace that they were allowed to host the Olympics. But, of course, they let the Nazis host the 1936 Olympics; so Geneva has a Hell of a lot to answer for!
