surely there is no more room in our gardens when our hearts close the door on ourselves

when we are hurt we wind up like pain resides in the wind and the body and we are scared of the wind that will hurt us more than the wind of someone who is not there
the person not there is out in the open where all see the picture shows that give apathy in gasps and belief that do not belong to anything but the gusts of wind that shine down on us as though they are within us
As though apathy dropped a base and being the kindest person to reach for the base let the sun shine in a place so dark you remembered you were human not god with the reach of an angel here to shine light upon the next invention of the human population with the it's amber ashes in your wake just to feel them breathe beneath the palm which you carelessly hold everyday.

About this poem

This poem is about accepting our duties to stay inside during covid and to not be heros of perfectionism. as a society and for ourselves, to be in the open in teaching those around us what we can without bias as to comforts that we reach for in our habits from one thing to the next from speech that lingers. hence the apathy.
