Hope is lost

Sometimes in life I get real down.
It shows on my face in the form of a frown.
Other days they are not so bad.
And there are the days I feel so sad.
On other days I just want to hide.
I keep my feelings down deep inside.
So no one in the world can see.
All the things that life’s done to me.
The ups and downs and the lonely times.
Making sense of things in some silly rhymes.
The broken dreams and heartfelt pains.
How the sadness creeps while happiness wanes.
I’m always waiting or so it seems.
To live my life or fulfill my dreams.
No reprieve will come for me today.
And now all my hope has gone away.
Where could it be just where did it go?
Is someone out there who will let me know?
Where hope goes when it all gets lost?
Is there no way to recoup all the cost?
Does faith step in like a hindering child?
To bring back hope and make suffering mild.
How to fix things and leave me no strife.
Every day that I live with no love in my life.
No one to tell me that things will be fine.
No one is here that is just all mine.
No one is here to tell my secrets to.
Nothing is left here for me to do.
My job I have done to my best I believe.
My suffering still grows I want to concede.
Back to the times where I had much love.
Living so happy and free like a dove.
Does the last bit of hope I hold in my heart.
Make a new path for some else to start.
Their life without hope they have on their own.
Will it help them in life until they are all grown?
I shudder to think as I draw a deep breath.
Will there even be hope long after my death?
