Caught in a curfew

Caught in a curfew

Armoured cars and armoured tanks,
its like in a war torn country flanks.
But this was in  an urban city in America
in peace time USA
of an advanced country today.

It’s the time of a curfew,
in this ravaged city of race and hate.
Unwittingly does this family of tourists
in their car they traverse
into this city of perverse.

They were caught in the middle of a riot ,
it was a place of mayhem and disquiet.
Two of the family were slaughtered
who can tell knowingly or otherwise
in this American urban city of hate and race,
in peace time America
of today.
