To Thine Ownself Be True
You have to be true to yourself,
You should be fit for yourself,
You should be able to, as the days go by ,
Look yourself straight in the eye,
You should not shed with the setting sun,
And hate yourself for the things you have done.
You may not like to keep on your closet shelf,
A lot of secret about yourself,
And fool yourself as you come and go,
Into thinking that nobody else will ever know,
The kind of man you really are,
You won't like to dress up yourself in sham.
You want to go out with your head erect,
You want to deserve all men's respect,
You know the struggle for name and fame,
You want to be able to be yourself,
You don't want to look at yourself and know ,
That, you are a bluff and empty show,
You can never hide yourself,
You can see what others will never see,
You know what others may never know,
You can never fool yourself and so,
Whatever whatever happens, you want to be; Self respecting and conscience free.
