Falling for a glimpse of light

Aahi 2002 (Kathmandu)

A glimpse of the vivid you from the broken window engraved roots of love within me

And when your eyes looked beyond the window and noticed the vague me
I felt as though my heart had been embraced for its true identity

I took it upon myself to keep us together but I struggled and lost myself instead
Some would call it my wretched fate and some my recklessness

I knelt before you asking to be loved back like you swore you did before
Only to realize I had been tearing down my beloved pride

When I look back at it today,
I thank you for the lessons you taught me
The lesson to not devote the whole me to a glimpse of light
But rather to try to seek one's darkness within
And still, be able to have only love in my sight
