Trying, Dying

Rain falls to the soft ground,
Memories of the past are stirred.
Thunder rolls in the highlands,
The silent whispers go unheard.

As I search for you amongst the lost,
My head hurts and my eyes sting.
As the raindrops fall my tears mix with them,
And my mind wonders if it is dreaming.

You are gone to me now as you drift into the light,
And I escalate to the height of madness.
I am in denial forever in eternity,
Do you dare to watch my plight?
