Clearing my dead daughter’s room

Clearing my dead daughter ‘s room.

How many of us will ever have to do this ?
I mean going through your dead daughter’s  things.
She passed away and that too by choice.
This was a year ago and I had no voice.

And me , her father still breathing and old,
still living but very cold.
cold and dead in the soul,
no escape there and numb all alone,
deep in grief and forlorn.
She passed away and that too by choice,
This was a year ago and I had no voice.

Sifting through her plentiful school works
and even much of her college years
seeing afresh what I knew were there
a handwritten note here,
and typed manuscript of her from nowhere
suddenly on my radar.

It’s totally heart breaking
it’s searingly gut wrenching
O ‘ Lord, is that how you punish the  bereft who are grieving?
She passed away , that too by choice.
This was a year ago and I had no voice.
