A Different Place

You’ve taken my heart to different place
You uplift me in all my darkness
It is written across your face
Every time you look at me

I feel so marvelous and at peace
With the connection we have made
My heart has been only leased
And used by abusers

I was left with scars across my heart
You have made them feel like beauty marks
Replaced with gems of genuine care
And flowers of tenderness
