Abductee

A fleeting glance across the plain
Murky dark clouds which promise us rain
Sharp bolts of light shooting the sky
Clapping of thunder sounding nearby

Then there's a light, quite some distance away
As it gets closer, "what is it?" you say
Your mind is as cloudy as the thundering skies
Like the feeling you get when someone you know dies
Next you are wandering, all dazed and confused
Your mind is all shoddy, your body is achy and bruised

Your memory is all shoddy, you can't make out why?
Did you see something glowing up there in the sky?
Now you want answers to your thoughts and your dreams
To finally find out what on earth it all means

Nicola Baxter

I have wrote many poems over the years, poetry has helped me express what I could not express verbally, and has helped me grow inwardly. I have written poems on many different topics, some humorous stories in poetry form, and some deep meaningful and emotive ones, inspired by events, and from personal experiences and what I witness and observe that has moved me in some way. more…
