Walk with me

Walking at night
Strolling between darkness and light
It’s so very quiet
This peace you can’t buy it
Letting my mind roam it starts to wander
Nothing is real but this street light I’m under
Keep on walking past where my shadow is tallest
Moon cast its light from a sky that is flawless
Despite the dew I walk through the grass
Ever so carful not to bust my ass
Though late the hour a few cars on the road
Bedtime, I guess a few others have yet to be told
The sweet public solitude
Takes me out of a mood
Had a bad day, nothing else can medicate
Like a late night walk and a few moments to meditate
Though all is right with me now
I wish I simply knew how
To articulate these words get them all just right
To make you want to go walking with me tonight
