The Devil That is Her

She hates it when I'm low, she loves it when I'm up. She lifts my mind from below, too refill its cup. She finds me in every tear, to gently wipe it away. She tells me of my beauty, and my confidence grows. She hates it when I'm mad, and prevents my frustrations from leading me astray. She energizes me, to the point I feel alive and well. She teaches me how to express my emotions and to break down my walls. She loves it when I'm stable, that my spirit and mind arent in hell. You build me, you love me, you care for me, you make me feel happy, all of which decides you are meant for me.
She loves it when I'm down, she hates it when I'm up. She pushes my mind down below, to empty its cup. She leaves me with every tear, the emptiness wont go away. She tells me how atrocious I am, and my despair grows. She loves it when I'm mad, and keeps leading me astray with my frustrations. She sedates me, to the point I am blind and deaf. She teaches me how to suppress my emotions and to build my walls. She loves it when I'm unstable, that my spirit and mind stay in hell. You break me, You spite me, You mistreat me, You make me feel miserable, all of which decides you aren't meant for me. These creation of lies began and continue to disguise the truth our love holds. A self-centered existence that became the center of my self. I have to walk away from you, and the belief that I'm best without you I must uphold. You have no love for me, only an intent to harm me left uncontrolled. One day at a time, I will leave you in the past as a memory to be learned from. The memory of the devil that is you.

About this poem

This writing is an inside look of my relationship with meth. What seems to be truth is really lies, sobriety could never be so hard.
