A beautiful disaster

Blinded by the sight that lies;
Above our heads, within star-filled skies
The light, it shines so bright, our eyes;
They close, waiting for the inevitable demise

Our attempts to avoid what could bring so much damage;
Shut down and demolished by our wonder
An incredible sight lies at hand;
For those who choose to see it
But we fear that when one looks at this masterpiece;
They may never see again

Despite our wonder,
We mustn't have our perception become shattered;
When one decides to look;
At this beautiful disaster
