Corona

Anil C Rai 1956 (Darjeeling)

Whence did you take birth?                                                                                                                                               What destruction do you wrought?                                                                                                                                       Made our world distraught.

Soul-less vagabond,                                                                                                                                                          come to test humanity,  -                                                                                                                                                      see how we endure?

Invaded our psyche,                                                                                                                                                              taken toll of rationale,                                                                                                                                                             put our lives on hold.

Oh! ruthless creature,                                                                                                                                                           invisible scythe you wield,                                                                                                                                                                grimly lives you reap.

Our minds shorn of peace                                                                                                                                                     world awaits with bated breath                                                                                                                                               for your departure!

This poem is written in the Haiku style however in the presentation as it appears the three distinct line with 5-7-5 syllables have got obliterated due to the lines getting merged as a single statement.
