To whom the moon calls

There’s something about the moon that gives off an ambience of mystery.
Surrounded by the stars in the sky, it presents us with a dim light that can be seen from all around.
It’s kind of magical, really.
How an entire world of people can be brought together by the sight of a planet that lies far beyond our reach.
Yesterday, I went outside at night.
Standing out in the cold air, I realized my insignificance.
Imagine being something that everyone sees before they go to bed.
Being something that covers the earth with the ability to see what would remain otherwise unseen at night.
The moon is a powerful thing.
Whereas I am only one person, living under it.
When the moon shines its vague light, some darkness still endures.
And though many would find that fact unsettling, I find it mystical.
This allows you to fill in the blanks of what your vision is lacking, with whatever you desire.
Whatever you envision, becomes your reality, being there nothing to prove you incorrect.
And when the sun bleeds in, and when night turns to day,
We know that the magic of the moonlight has vanished.
But we can take comfort in knowing that at the end of the day, we shall meet again.
