MARY OUR MOTHER JUST LOOK DOWN ON EARTH
Beatrice Nkuna 1970 (Soshanguve)
Blood, sweat, tears and great efforts were put into building our nation.
Hatred is at the core of our nation’s downfall.
All our great efforts are being reduced to dust.
Why are we repeating history, instead of learning from it?
Why are we planting seeds of hatred instead of nurturing and reaping
the fruits of all our efforts and sacrifices?
South Africa, our Land, needs unity.
Hear the Cries of a mother to her sons and daughters:
“I have never taught you destruction,
I know that your grievances stem from hunger and a lack of means.
Hunger and suffering are all temporary; the grass is always greener on the other side.
Is momentary satisfaction worth having your hands soiled by your brother’s blood?
Let your heart display compassion and mercy.
Innocent blood has been spilt,
Innocent souls have been taken.
Sons and daughters of South Africa, I ask you for one thing: to not lose your humanity”
We have forgotten that there is great strength in unity.
We become weak when we are divided.
STOP THE KILLINGS,
STOP THE VIOLENCE,
Let us resuscitate UBUNTU, the African way of life.
Africa needs Unity.
