Anxiety

ATER CURRY 1990 (United States)

She stands in every corner of every room that I am in
Wet lips puckered with anticipation of the words she can barely contain
A bitch in a red dress full of vanity
And soaked in the blood of the innocence she has slain

She waits for the perfect moment to spew her black poison
And I so readily drink from the cup she has filled
Like a baby eager to supple the nipple of a mother's full breasts
I devour every drop, and lick the floor clean where I have spilled

She paints my face black to hide me from those people and those places
And wraps me in a blanket that she says will keep me warm
And for a moment I am enveloped in such peaceful silence
Then that silence becomes insufferable and before too long misery Is reborn

So here am I and here is she
Never fleating, endless fear
Of the known and the great unknown
Where ever I am she is near
