Spring Suprise

Dr. T. Pinnock 1962 (Hartford, Ct)

It was March 23 when I awaken from my rest. The was shining in my face... My room was filled with light, it was a lovely feeling against my eyes.

Yesterday the sun was clouded by clouds, yet now the sun is glowing along the grass. I had forgotten that spring had come, it shocked and surprised me.

When it turned 11:42 Richard and I went outside to appreciate and The Spring Air.

The wind blew gracefully in my apple heart. I looked up, the sun was shining in my black eyes.

Jeffery was already outside, He was listening to the radio. A song came on that fitted the day perfectly.

My day ended and I thought to myself what a surprising spring.

Dr. T. Pinnock

Dr. Pinnock first wrote poetry in the institution he resided in inside a classroom at 8 years old. The typewriter was old and manual with a keyguard. A keyguard is a device with an opening for each key to prevent a person lacking fine motor skills from accidentally hitting a key. Dr. Pinnock was granted permission to use the class alone. He labored there typing for hours ignoring his cerebral palsy. Dr. Pinnock grew up with his family until August of 1970.
