Purpose

Purpose

Pleading for death to end this pain
Not knowing I was growing closer to You
Through each trial and struggle

I've been beaten and stomped on
Only able to look up on bended knees
Screaming silent prayers only You can hear

You're my strength when I am weak
The one and only true light
In this world full of darkness

You gave me another chance to be free
Broke every chain that bonded me
Closer to You I shall seek

Forever grateful for Your mercy
Continuously praying to be used for Your glory
I finally have value and purpose through You, my Father

About this poem

I wrote this poem when I was going through a very dark and depressing time in my life. I had just lost my husband at 30 years old and I was feeling all alone. But God showed me there's still something for me here and I just had to realize that my life was not over too. I am here to live my purpose and leave my footprint on this world.
