The Champ
There he was running fast and bare feet
To watch him run and race was a treat
100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1000 meters
In 110m hurdles, cross country all clusters
He had a band across his forehead
Like Yjorn Borg, of all he seemed ahead
Entire ground was echoing with his name
He ran unaware, shooting to fame
Little did he know he was breaking records
To always be remembered as a stalwart
The preparation had begun years back
Working out in mornings, no efforts to lack
Rising from a nobody to a champ
Running till his legs had a cramp
For all the achievements to achieve pining
There he stood, it was just the beginning
