Niece

To my little niece, Cherish,
Whom brings smiles to my brother's face
Turning one is an eventful thing
That nobody dare replace

With a youthful and pristine mind
To tenderly mold and teach
I give to you this diminutive bell
For your heart I try to reach

It is a symbol of love
I share with family alone
With this single, little bell is
An occurrence that's been postpone

In the hope of rekindling
A small heritage I acquired
When the family member I was closest to
Abruptly had expired

I know you don't understand right now
But in time it'll come to show
That a little gift means more than it seems
And your uncle see your loving glow
