Seasons

Douglas H. Mc Clintock 1934 (Sarnia, Ontario)

Walk ,run, up, down, path or road
Youth. adult, middle or elder age.
Like spring, summer, autumn and winter I am told
We will read our life's page by page.

So which one is best of all ?
Each one has it's merit of it's own.
Tiny or big, sick or health,  or short or tall.
In all seasons of life, we should never be alone.

From one to twenty, springtime is here.
New growth is constantly with us.
Learning, joyful, active at the same time everywhere.
Everything  we find is a plus.

From twenty to forty  our best beyond compare.
Hiking, biking, camping, being active is the word.
Our life is full with no care,
Our bodies working with no hurt.

From forty to sixty, autumn shows us character
With beautiful sunsets we often see.
Appreciating each other, good books, and friends that matter.
Wisdom to know the word " kemo sabe. " (  look it up )

From sixty to eighty plus is the deciding factor.
Pain will be your middle name.
The truth beat fiction, here you can't be an actor.
A life well lived will be your claim.

Has your life's seasons been worth it all ?
Are you just a blip, with no one to care ?
Inside within us all is a soul,
Where it's going, we should be aware !
