WAR CRIMES

Phil Roberts 1957 (Melbourne)

War crimes are committed
By our fighting forces,
In the name of justice
          Justice or revenge?
No-one seems to care.

People crying, innocents dying
Martyred by stormtroopers,
Governments killing babies
          and pregnant women,
Saying it's collateral damage.

No good guys remain now
Villains fighting villains
In a never-ending campaign
         a siege of terror
Fighting against justice.

All crimes are excused now
No accounting is being done
So murder is accepted now
        by the soulless drones.
The ones who call the tune.

Decency is long departed
Winning is all that matters,
Propaganda keeps the gullible
        from seeing the truth
Tunnel-vision truly prevails.

Evil acts are committed
By our so-called heroes,
War criminals in truth
         fight against right.
Helping to kill the truth.

Killing the innocent people
In far off foreign lands,
Pretending that they don't matter
They're not the same as us.
And they say that "Might is right!"
