Do Or Don't

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

If one does to do or don't.
Will this matter to judgement passers?
Those who are critics.
And creatures of adopted habits.

If one decides to choose,
To be on the left or right side of facts.
There are the ones who come to oppose,
A decision made to turn up their noses.
Just for the reason to please an objection.
An objection that makes no sense.
Other than receiving,
Attention to get.

And if this attention to them isn't given,
Accusations with allegations are made.
Hoping the doing of this creates,
A wasting of time in their minds to find...
Worthy to prevent,
Anything said that is positive and moves...
In a direction towards progress.
Advantageous and beneficial for all.

'But...
Where is the evidence of this to prove it?'

'Well...
The doers often don't,
Allow naysayers to stay in their way!'

'And...
What does that comment,
To me should mean?'

'What we are here to do,
With effort to endeavor.
Will continue with that effort.
Regardless of your negative endeavors!
And...
Whatever that to you should mean?
Is not on our list of priorities!
Whether you do or don't comprehend,
The focus we have on our objectives!
To understand.
Or clearer to make understood.
Any other questions?'

'I...'

'No?
Good!
