NEW WORLD ORDER

Charles Rocky 1961 (Kerala)

The new world order still remains on paper
and it was made to rejuvenate all those in pauper,
and this world transforms with great leaps
adding the miseries of many in more heaps,
and the present day tensions prevailing around
is only because of the economic imbalance found.
Machines have replaced hands on the farm
putting unemployment to more harm,
and if basics do not reach the poor living
it is here conflicts have their beginning.
The new world order should be such
where the haves with their exorbitant much,
traverse to areas where many are at woe
and change their lives, no more their foe,
such good attitudes if made to practice
will create less of tension, more of ease.
Let the world be a safer place
and cheer be found on every face,
since if the mind is sound and strong
things in this world will never go wrong.

About this poem

The pace with which the world moves forward hold no good in the long run. Inequality still looms large all over the world. There are miseries around, new diseases and the almost all countries are reeling under recession.
