MUNI

Living in a shed
With a disturbing world ahead
Muni, the wise teacher
Has a lot to lecture
And plans for missions
To save troubled nations.
Segregation on caste and colour
Have replaced the days of valour
Such discrimination is a vice
Now alarmingly on the rise
So, Muni in a white robe
Trod across the globe.
Children smiled and followed Muni
To the open fields of harmony
There Muni preached to resist
The evils their elders persist
And with a sense of purity
Children swore for unity.
Isn't Muni an embodiment
For peace across each continent.

About this poem

Muni in India is a sage who meditates for peace and harmony. The poem was cast on the background of class and caste discrimination seen in many parts of the world. Children need to be educated on the vices of discrmination and the muni turns out to be a good teacher.
