Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder!!!

There she walked in again at our house
As always I wanted to vanish like a mouse

Scared  my expressions would give in
Crossed my fingers, forgiveness for my sin

Mother  was kind and very bountiful
Mother always told her, she was beautiful

From no angle did I find her so
My mother noticed and would not let it go

She asked me about my apprehension
Why was she beyond my appreciation

I was taken aback and was speechless
Head bowed I stood motionless

Mother told me about her education
Even about her sacrifices and affection

How hardworking and sincere she was
Always benevolent, working for right cause

She loved and served her sick mother
No one else in the family had to bother

Her mother-in-law was ill and bedridden
Nursed well, her own hobbies forgotten

I suddenly realized my mistake
The opinion formed had to forsake

She had empathy for people
Was it so very simple?

The clouds of apprehension disappeared
A new class of beauty she pioneered

Lo!! " You are very beautiful "" told her
Beauy lies in the eyes of the beholder!!

Beauty is skin deep - for this realization
Thanks to mother - who taught this lesson
