A Real Dream

Tabitha J. Bryson 1973 (Indianapolis, Indiana)

Sadness finally lost
with happiness gained
while I'm walking around
in the pouring rain.
My fear has left me
it left on it's own
no longer in my mind
does it have a home.
Finally at peace
my past has gone by
no longer in pain
rarely I cry.
Don't know how I managed
to make it through the years
what could I be
when blinded by tears?
Space and time
always flew by
with me standing still
questioning why.
But finally it's over
my past is gone
now it's time for me
to move on...
Awaken from this dream
it hasn't happened yet
my past & I
bounded like cement.
But as long as I dream
as my story unfolds
who can really tell
what my future may hold?
