Abyss

Scott Felgner 1979 (Ridgewood, New Jersey)

What I was, what I am, and what I’ll become
Alone I travel through this Abyss of personalities
Hear the talk from the other room
As I approached, the noise gets farther away

Feel me as I push away from you
Know I’ve climbed the grapevine to hear your soul
See the heat coming through the broken door
My soul is too broken to feel your pain

See the communication breakdown between my soul and my conscience
Feel the despair of my hurt and angry mind
See the abyss of my thoughts and my memories
I need to wander back into the sun

Follow me into the darkness
Follow me into oblivion
Watch me drown
Watch me return stronger than you
