Fear

Dr. Venugopal C. K 1968 (Thiruvananthapuram)

I quit my exams in fear
and it cost me dear.
I nearly quit my job
almost ending in a sob.
All this out of fear
leaving me in despair.
I had to a find a way out
to win this bout.
I asked fear trying to hide my fear
how can I beat you my dear.
Fear laughed his fearful laugh and said
You should know me clear
to overcome your fear.
It's all in the mind
I will be there like a wind
if you carry me around
Do the things you fear
and everything will become clear.
I fear failure O' fear I said tearfully.
Fear's laughter rang out fearfully.
Take it headon and face it like a man.
Suddenly fear vanished
and I felt elated.
Yes now I understood fear.
He is there he is here
playing hide and seek everywhere.
It's all in your mind my dear
to fear or not to fear.
