Just Listen:
As I sit here and listen,
and see the hate people been dishin'
I realize something's missin'...
It's a fair justice system.
As innocent people sit in prison,
politicians earn their commission.
Why is it that some people won't listen?
This new generation has a vision,
It's to try to stop this endless racism.
Those who suffer have their voices hidden
Let's make it our mission,
to end this unjust division
and fix our broken justice system.

About this poem

A poem about racism and the unjust justice system i wrote a little while after George Floyd's death, I felt it was right to write about this major issue that relates to my generation and my personal life as a 1/2 black teen with black family members.
