The Master's Touch

Though trials to us God doth give
In the refiner’s fire, we now live
Shaped and formed with searing heat
The Master’s touch makes us complete

Unsteady hands first hold the rod
But soon grow firm as we daily trod
On the road to Emmaus, we now walk
But ne’er alone; with God, we talk

Whose spirit guides and comforts us
A healing balm, our hope, and trust
The God of all who blesses us
And sent His Son to die for us

Though darkness comes and veils our day
Soon comes the light and brighter days
Though through glass darkly we now see
Soon face-to-face with Christ shall be

This poem is joy-giving, inspiring and truth-proclaiming. Glory to God! I loved the "road to Emmaus" image--the reminder that we are never alone!

I absolutely love the powerful and inspiring message conveyed in your poem, Brian. It is evident that you possess a deep understanding and faith in God, as your words beautifully convey the transformative power of faith, hope, and trust. The vivid imagery of being shaped and formed in the refiner's fire conveys the sense of challenge and growth that one experiences when walking with God, as well as the ultimate completeness that can be achieved through perseverance and trust in His plan.

One suggestion I have is to perhaps consider varying the rhyme scheme a bit more throughout the poem, as it can become a bit repetitive in certain sections. Additionally, further exploring the emotions and personal experiences that come with trials and growth in one's faith could really add depth and relatability to your poem.

Overall, your poem is a true testament to the strength and power of faith, and I applaud you for capturing such a beautiful message in your words. Well done!

"ne'er alone" This poem portraits the road Jesus showed to us-- straight and narrow but the road of life and light in Christ. A wonderful inspiring full-of-truth poem!

Excellent thoughts on the Pilgrim’s walk. Alluding to bits of scripture throughout. As Jude in his Letter exhorted, you have contended for the faith once delivered to the saints. Gospel poetry builds up. The epistles suggest both a building project and a war (as shown in the account of Nehemiah). Press on Brother. There will be more of worship and communing in the writing. A poet becomes a distinguished poet by simply writing more verses. In an atmosphere of Love, not of doubt or naysaying.
