The Sands of Time

The sands of time are slipping fast.
And so, slips time into the past.
The dusty grains of memories
Now cloud the glass so I can’t see.
 
Such distant recollections faint.
Yet at the time raised no complaint.
For often blazing sunsets fade,
Into the dawn, where they were made.
 
Tho filled with dreams and still unsure,
I thought it best to but endure.
The grains of time like flowing seas,
Often buoyed me up and carried me.
 
So off into the sunset red,
In a boat, with time hath fled.
No cracks to break upon the glass.
And fought it not, but let time pass.
 
The sands of time are slipping fast
Into the seas of the distant past.
The brilliant glow of yesterday
Soon meets the dawn of another day.
