CARNIVOROUS PLANTS

Carnivorous plants
Moss-like fiends that wrap around
Anything within reach,
Grabbing human prey, they suck
Out life fluids like vampires.

Hair-thin filaments
Of a sentient plant life,
Reaching out toward
Their prey just like tentacles,
To grasp them and strangle them.

Leeching flesh away
From screaming victims’ bodies,
Remains suspended
Dangling, gleaming skeletons
A warning to passers-by.
