Distant Minds

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Too much fiction stacked in attics packed,
Has detached so many minds...
Orbiting around their fantasies,
In not just 'another'...
But a countless of other,
Alternate Universes.

Unimaginable,
These times would be...
If gossiped to rumor them.
By the best juice squeezing gossipers.
Tastefully flavoring,
Their time wasting hobbies...
With a soliciting of malicious craze.
Who would believe,
The unexpected on a daily basis...
To expect?

'You are kidding me?
No way?
What is going on?
Unbelievable!'

'Not Oscar worthy.
Although...
One of your better performances.'

'Would you stop that.
Seriously.
I was being sincere.'

'Sure.'

But...
This head banging stuff,
To observe for what it is and see?
Needs...
Psychiatry!
An army of psychiatrists.
Armed with pads and pens!
And recently filled prescriptions,
Recommended by 'their' personal physicians.
