The face that hides behind the shadows is no longer there
Sometimes I wonder if it really cares
It tells me that I am not alone and comforts me when I am scared
I really wish my life wasn't so bare
I try to do everything right without doing it wrong
I try not to be down so I lift my head and be strong
When you die only your body dies and your heart stays alive
I never believed in myself until I realized God is there to lead me all the way
About this poem
I wrote this poem when I was 7 years old. It was my very first piece of writing. It was published in the local newspaper.
