Silence
Meshack Bwoyele Keya 1960 (Vihiga)
A story is told with an audience all antentive
The farmer did lose a watch in a cave
All his searches yielded no fruit
It is fortunate it was not in a street
Soon he summoned help from children nearby
They swam into action thereby
They struggled to find the watch noisily
Looking like chicken so silly
Tired and farmished out of the cave they came
Nobody had the watch as they were same
One boy requested only one time in the cave
Others were refused though to enter did crave
The boy soon emerged with the watch
Others were not in any way to match
How did he to get the watch manage
He just sat in silence and was not in rage
Soon he heard the ticking sound
And the lost watch was soon found
There is great communication in silence
This boy could easily have it in defence
Being noisy is not prudence
Being in a croud might be an offence
We need people who are patient
They are able to win if not to relent
About this poem
Silence can produce much.
