A tribute to Dad

A tribute to Dad.

When I was born, you were there,
In your eye I saw a tear,
Times Flies & now I am 46
And when I thought I can run, you are gone.

Your silence, your calm demeanor, your reassurance,
Emancipating from the corner of the room,
Gave the strength to fight all challenges.

You are a true warrior, the chosen one of the Lord.
Even though we had your back, you always chose to suffer in silence,
Your selfless love, your warmth, your compassion, your blessings
Is the result of what we are today.

Sometimes, I feel I should have spoken with you a little more,
Massaged your back & legs a little more.
Loved you a little more.
A little more, a little more a little more.

A gentleman at heart,
This set you apart,
You have always been there with a smile & a nod
A precious gift from God, you bought joy to our lives,
You gave us the strength to carry on,
Even when all hope seemed to be gone,

You never asked for anything,
You thanked God for everything,

You never feared death,
You said why should one fear death?
We all must go when God calls,
You said with a glint in your eye
In your trademark, unabashed style.

You did not create a fuss,
Even when your health deteriorated.
You never cringed, cribbed, or cried,
Never asked God. Why me?
Not once

The lessons in life I have learned,
Are from  your love & teachings
With deep appreciation for all that you have done,
You Dad are
My number one,
