Zayin
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Remember my affliction,
Wanderings through wilderness;
The gall from a conviction,
Misery from bitterness.
For my soul still remembers,
And is humbled within me;
Desired burning embers,
Disregarding His decree.
This I recall to my mind,
Therefore I still have the hope;
Because of my faith is blind,
As I continue to cope.
The steadfast love of the Lord,
His mercy never ceases;
His compassion not ignored,
While my faith increases.
They are new every morning,
For great is His faithfulness;
Shielding me from the scorning,
From my foes with boastfulness.
For the Lord is my portion,
Therefore I will hope in Him;
That my foes cause distortion,
Tries to block spiritual vim.
The Lord is good to who wait,
To the soul that is seeking;
His embrace will compensate,
Encourage in His speaking.
One should quietly delay,
Waiting for His salvation;
Keeping your trust to obey,
To be a new creation.
It is good for man to bear,
Bearing the yoke of his youth;
And remembering to share,
The Word of God for the truth.
