A Shinny Stone

The clouds were dark and gloomy.
People were crying, dying.
Wars were raging.
Buildings were collapsing.
Confusion was everywhere.

I sat down on the beach and rested.
I could not take it anymore.
Then I saw a shinny stone.
I reached for it and held it tight.

The clouds cleared and the sun shined.
People were helping, smiling.
Hope filled the land.
Buildings were being built.
The world seems to be at peace.

I stood and began walking the beach.
I thought a stone made a difference.
Events are altered by what we do.
Could I really have changed humanity?
