Your Eyes

Your eyes remind me of better times long since expired.
When I gaze into them I see swirling galaxies of Fire.
In my soul, in my heart that's where the feelings start
fluttering up to the surface as mental shards.
Tiny thoughts at first suddenly bloom fully into spring.
I'd love to lull you, holding you close again on Grandma's creaky porch swing.
But, alas, all these thoughts and words are truly meaningless
since I cannot once more feel your tender, loving caress.
But move on I shall, another step forward in good time.
Forever I'll let my thoughts, my dreams of you brilliantly shine.

About this poem

Just ruminating about life one day and the opening line came to me and it went from there. Enjoy!
