MY MUM, NONPAREIL

MY MUM, NONPAREIL

My hope of joy, a comforter.
A virago amongst many, so resilient.
As bold as brass, a conqueress.
Your love is a mystery, unfailing, without limit.
Your words are full of healing,
As soothing as the evening’s cool wind.
Even your discipline, full of love and care.
Your hands are never at rest, so hard-working.

In times of dejection and forlornness,
You are my comforter, my source of joy.
You who governed my premier steps,
You who wipe my tears,
And say all is well.
You who always patiently support me,
You are my miracle mum.
Your countenance is very slow, so patient.

Your diligence, your steadfastness,
Your skillfulness, your assertiveness,
Your creativity, your wise inquisitiveness…
Oh, mum, I could go on and on.
Oh, mum, you make the true meaning of a mother.
As virtuous, loving, and caring as you are,
I rejoice as I watch you being you,
You are my dazzling mum!
